After language classes, this semester we are offering culture classes at 3:30pm to 4:30pm. Besides, we have two supervised clubs for the students to share their interests.
Cantonese Opera workshop

Chinese Cultural Arts: age 6+ ( Materials fee $10)

Chinese WuShu (Martial Art): Age 7+
Chinese martial arts are world-‐famous. Wushu is an athletic and aesthetic performance form of Kung Fu. The beauty of wushu movents,
its difficulty, and the scientific training methods are the elements that set
wushu apart from other martial arts.

Lion Dance Troup 10 weeks; Ages 6+
Students learn the art of the Lion Dance. Younger students begin training as cubs. Older, stronger students learn to dance with the full lion head, as well as gong and drum instrumentation. Talented and motivated students may join the Lion Dance Troup in the Fall to train for Lunar New Year performances!
Chinese Yo-Yo Club: Age 5+ 2/19 - 3/25
The popular Yo‐Yo Club is back! Come to explore how to balance the
Chinese yo‐yo between sticks and
ropes and all kinds of tricks, and we are putting you on the stage!

Chinese Stories and Clay: Age 5+ 2/19-3/25 (Materials fee $5)
Listen
to traditional stories and fables in Chinese, like the Tortoise and the
Hare. Then learn to make corresponding clay figurines.

Chinese dults & students: Age 8+ 4/1 - 5/20
Come to play Chinese Chess with us. This club will make your mind sharp! With just a little help from our experienced instructor, you will be playing like a pro in no time!

ack: Age 5+ (Spring only, 4/1 - 5/20)

Come to play one of the games that your parents played as a kid! Challenge yourself kicking the feathered hacky sack with one or both feet, and try to balance yourself at the same time
Chinese Folk Dance: age 8+ (Fall only)
Instructor: Ms. Fenlan Lin Ms.
Lin is talented in many forms of Chinese Folk Dance, including the
challenging “Silver Plate Dance” and the “Ribbon Dance”. This dancing
group has been invited to perform at various occasions and boys and
girls love it!
Young Dancers: age 5-9 (Fall only) Instructor: Ms. Anyu Carol Tsai This
dance group requires no dance training background. It is a hit for
little ones who are enthusiastic to smile and shine on the stage! This
group has performed at the Poughkeepsie Children’s Museum and other
occasions.
