Dear Parents and Students,
I would like to welcome our returning students and their families, and to extend a special welcome to those families and students new to our school.
We had a very successful and fruitful year of 2008-2009. Our students performed Chinese traditional dance, Lion Dance, Kung-Fu, Chinese Yo-Yo in annual Hudson River Arts festival, community library, Chinese new year celebration, and many other events. Our school and students donated food and volunteered for “lunch box” program hosted by Family Partnership in Poughkeepsie. We have our student designed our school logo. And special thanks to Dr. Shih, we have published a magnificent year book in DVD. Don’t forget to pick it up. Another special thanks to Ms. Kathy King and Wai Choi for arranging field trip to China Town. We enjoyed Dim-Sum, parade, and fire works in China Town. We will do it again this coming year.
This school year, we will have regular classes and conversation classes to fulfill the Chinese language learning demand from students and families. In addition, we will continue offer multiple culture classes after regular class hours to let students to choose and get involved. Out from busy working schedule, our teachers and board members stretch themselves to their best to serve our students and families.
Again, I would like to extend my thanks to all parents. To learn Chinese language in such short hours is very challenge. Success not only depends on teacher’s well preparation, but also parental involvement and support. My thanks also go to all the teachers and board members. With your volunteering time and dedication effort, our school can ensure success and our students will receive high quality of Chinese language learning.
The last, I would like to thank the WCSD board of education, and the RCK principal, Mr. Tom Stella for their support so that we can continue to run our school in using RCK’s facilities.
Looking forward to see you all and wish another successful school year ahead of us.
Warm Regards,
Tso-Hui Ting, Principal
